Nov. 17, 7 p.m.: Dava Sobel. The author's book, Galileo's Daughter, looks at the life of famous 17th-century scientist Galileo through the letters of his daughter.
Nov. 24, 7 p.m: Tim Berners-Lee. In his book Weaving the Web Berners-Lee discusses his invention, the World Wide Web, and its repercussions today.
Looking Ahead to December
Dec. 1, 7 p.m: Danielle Steel. Our own local queen of romance will talk about her latest novel, Irresistible Forces.
Dec. 8, 7 p.m.: Simon Winchester. In The Professor and the Madman, Winchester reveals how a madman helped produce the Oxford English Dictionary.
Children's Events for November
Melisande's 10th Birthday Party, Nov. 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Help celebrate our 10th birthday! There will be face painting, cookies and birthday cake, story reading, and at noon a puppet show. Children are invited to come dressed as their favorite character from a children's book. The best-dressed child will receive a free copy of the picture book Melisande.
